ANZACS AT WAR - GREAT PYRAMID of CHEOPS EGYPT
Category: Anzacs

In 1903 the Perth Rifle Volunteers were renamed the 11th Australian Infantry Regiment. At this stage the only permanent soldiers in Australia were Engineers, Coastal Defence Gunners and a handful of Staff Officers. On the outbreak of WWI, Australia had a militia of about 100 000 people. The Defence Act 1903 stipulated that the Australian Militia Forces were only to be employed in the Defence of Australia. Hence the Australian Imperial Forces (AIF) was raised for service overseas. This is commonly referred to as the 1st AIF. The term of enlistment was for “the duration of hostilities plus 6 months”. The 11th Australian Infantry Battalion AIF was raised at Black Boy Hill Camp on 17 August 1914 and recruited from the militia units.

The now famous picture of the 11th Battalion AIF at the Cheops pyramid in Egypt in 1915 is shown throughout military history displays and books the world over. The picture was taken just before the landing at Anzac Cove. Not many of the soldiers in this picture survived the 8 month campaign. After the Campaign on the Gallipoli Peninsula, the 11th Battalion AIF went on to serve with distinction in France and Belgium from 1916-18. They returned to Australia at the end of the war and disbanded on the 5 February 1919.

Kokoda - Courage, Endurance, Mateship, Sacrifice
Category: Anzacs

*Framing will be dark timber with double mat board

The Kokoda Track is a narrow, jungle enclosed pathway that meanders through the swampy north coast of Papua New Guinea around the coastal villages of Buna and Gona onto the village of Kokoda. It then snakes it’s way through almost impenetrable, leech dripping jungles along the most rugged terrain in the World over the Owen Stanley Range, linking up with Owen’s Corner, 48 kilometres outside Port Moresby on the south coast. The Japanese army would use this track to launch an overland assault on Port Moresby which would have given them a base from which to strike at the Australian mainland.

In July 1942, a Japanese force led by Major-General Tomitaro Horii landed on the north coast of Papua New Guinea. With a reputation of invincibility, his 10,000 strong South Seas Force who had known no failure in their advances across the Pacific, with crushing victories in Malaysia, Thailand, Hong Kong, The Philippines, Singapore, Burma and Guam, started their march overland via a seemingly insignificant track – what followed would go down in the annals of history. Despite being under trained, under equipped and vastly outnumbered, the true fighting spirit of the Diggers prevailed with the eventual defeat of the might of the Japanese army.

On the 29th August 1942, during the Battle of Isurava, Private Bruce Steel Kingsbury of the 2 / 14th Infantry Battalion was posthumously awarded the Victoria Cross for his gallant and selfless acts – the first Australian soldier to be awarded the Victoria Cross fighting on Australia Territory. The rock next to where Kingsbury died is part of the Isurava War Memorial is known simply as Kingsbury’s Rock. At the memorial four stone pillars display the words

Courage, Endurance, Mateship, Sacrifice

Barry Michael 'The Boxers'
Category: Boxing

Price includes GST & Delivery Australia wide.

'A tough, smart veteran of the ring'

Barry Michael was a journeyman fighter regarded by some as past his prime when he stunned those critics on July 12, 1985 by winning the IBF World Junior Lightweight title.

Like so many before him, Barry Michael started his career on Melbourne's TV Ringside in June 1973. His first title was the Victorian Lightweight title in 1975, adding the Junior Lightweight title the next year. He first surprised boxing followers by winning the Australian Lightweight title by beating Billy Mulholland in 1978. He defended this title for seven years. In 1981, he took another step by claiming the Commonwealth crown from Zimbabwean, Langon Tinago, but soon after lost it. To some it looked like the pugilistic career of Barry Michael had run its course… until another Victorian, Lester Ellis, won the IBF World Junior Lightweight crown and started looking around for a local challenger.

With proper time and diet, Michael reduced his fighting weight down, and a capacity crowd packed Festival Hall in Melbourne on July 12, 1985 to see the seasoned veteran, 30 year old Barry Michael, challenge the young lion, 20 year old Lester Ellis for Ellis' world championship belt which he had held for just 5 months. In a very tough encounter, Michael outsmarted Ellis over 15 rounds, winning on points.

Barry Michael made three successful defences of his title before surrendering it in 1987, bringing his Indian Summer to an end.

Hand-signed by Barry Michael

Ellis - 'The Boxers'
Category: Boxing

'Always an attractive drawcard'
Born on March 15, 1965, Lester Ellis earned early success as an amateur, winning the Australian Bantamweight Championship before turning professional in 1983.

The young fighter, now fighting in the Junior Lightweight division, went through 1983 and 1984 undefeated, finishing 1984 by winning the Commonwealth title from Zambian, John Sichula.

His rapid progress reached a peak on February 15, 1985 in Melbourne when he challenged the disturbingly named Korean, Hwan Kil Yuh, for the IBF Junior Lightweight title. After 15 gruelling rounds, Lester Ellis was the new world champion.

However boxing can be a fickle sport, and his meteoric rise up the ranks was equally rapid on the way down…

Just five months later, Lester Ellis - after one successful title defence against Rod Sequenan - lost the world crown to another Victorian, Barry Michael.

Ellis fought on for a number of years and won another world title of sorts by securing the WBF welterweight belt.

An aggressive, hard puncher, he was always an attractive drawcard in Australia.

Hand-signed by Lester Ellis

The main photograph shows Lester Ellis in the heat of battle with tough Korean, Hwan Kil Yuh, 15/2/1985. The 19 year old Ellis won the title on points.

Fenech 'The Boxers'
Category: Boxing

Price includes GST & Delivery Australia wide.

'Our greatest achiever in the ring'
Few sportsmen, let alone boxers, have captured the imagination of the Australian public like Jeff Fenech. Arguably one of our greatest fighters, it is without argument that he is our greatest achiever in the ring.

He first caught the public's attention at the 1984 Los Angeles Olympic games, where he was unlucky to miss a gold medal. Fenech turned pro immediately and the 'Marrickville Mauler' was a world champion within an astonishingly quick space of six months and seven fights. That was the IBF World Bantamweight Championship in April 1985 which Fenech took from Satoshi Shingaki of Japan. In a pro career of 32 bouts, more than half were with one title or another at stake. He made three defences of the bantamweight crown before moving up a division to claim the WBC Super-Bantamweight belt. Three times he defended this title before stepping up for a 3rd time - on this occasion to the WBC World Featherweight title, and made three successful defences. A fourth title narrowly eluded Fenech in a poor Las Vegas decision' when he drew with Azumah Nelson for the WBC Super-Featherweight title. Fenech was not the same boxer after this and advancing years precluded further glory. He remains one of a very select group of boxers to have won three world titles and throughout the 80's the passion and sincerity of Fenech ensured unqualified support and admiration from many Australians - boxing fans and non-fans alike.

Hand-signed by Jeff Fenech

The main photograph shows Jeff Fenech in the heat of battle during on eof the toughest fights of his career against Steve McCrory of the U.S.A., 18/7/1986. In a contest billed as Olympic Revenge, Fenech prevailed and stopped McCrory in the 14th round.
The photo below is Fenech after his successful defence against Satoshi Shingaki at Homebush, Sydney, 23/8/1985.

Harding 'The Boxers'
Category: Boxing

A tribute to Australia's own Champions of the World!

Jeff Harding

'The heaviest Australian to win a world title…'

No-one was as surprised as Jeff Harding himself when he won the Light Heavyweight championship of the world on June 24, 1989. He was given the shot at the title when another opponent withdrew at the last minute.

He looked to be comprehensively beaten in Atlantic City, right up until the final round. Then, after a final exhortation to the 'Hitman' from trainer Johnny Lewis, he unleashed a savage flurry upon champion Denis Andries in round 12, winning by knockout! Such was the epic, 'Rocky'-like nature of the bout, it was judged Fight of the Year by the WBC sanctioning body.

Harding was born in Grafton, NSW, on February 5, 1965. He turned pro in November, 1986 and won, in workmanlike fashion, the Australasian Light Heavyweight title, the NSW State Cruiserweight title, and the OPBF Light Heavyweight title. He was an aggressive hard puncher who was often criticized for his defensive lapses that allowed him to be hit quite a lot.

However, he seemed to be able to take incredible punishment and still win. Defensively, he did improve in the latter part of his career.

His battles with Andries were always greatly anticipated. After taking Andries' title, Harding successfully defended against Tom Collins and Nestor Giovannini, before losing the title to Andries in Melbourne within 7 rounds. Harding showed true champion mettle by winning it back from Andries in Engl nd 4 months later.

An extremely tough journeyman fighter, he developed into a competent boxer, and remains the heaviest Australian to win a world title.

Mattioli 'The Boxers'
Category: Boxing

'An aggressive, hard-punching crowd-pleaser…'
Born July 20, 1953, Rocco 'Rocky' Mattioli started his boxing career as a 17 year old on  the popular television show, 'Ringside'. He made steady progress through the ranks to main event status and in May 1973 beat Jeff White for the Australian Welterweight title. After more successful match-ups, he moved to Italy to further his career under the  management of Umberto Branchini.

The highpoint of his fight career came soon after on August 6, 1977. Like Lionel Rose and Johnny Famechon before him, he won the title away from home by defeating German world champion, Eckhard Dagg, by knockout in the 5th in his hometown of Berlin. The WBC Super-Welterweight belt was his.

He brought it back to Australian shores when he returned to Melbourne for an open-air defense of his title at Kooyong Tennis Centre. He knocked out challenger Elisha Obed of the Bahamas in seven rounds.

Just two months later he made another successful title defence, but his reign as champion of the world came to an end when a broken wrist forced him to retire in eight rounds  against British southpaw, Maurice Hope, in March 1979.

An aggressive, hard punching crowd-pleaser, he fought and beat some quality boxers in his years at the top, including former world champions Eddie Perkins and Billy Backus.

Rose 'The Boxers'
Category: Boxing

Price includes GST & Delivery Australia wide.

From struggling athlete… to national hero
Born on June 21, 1948 in Drouin, Victoria in humble circumstances, he rose to true national hero status during a stellar sporting career. Possessed with charm and character, he caught and held the imagination of the Australian public in the 60's and was awarded the honour of 'Australian Of The Year'.

Such was his appeal that his boxing success launched a very successful singing career, with No. 1 hits, such as 'Thank You For Your Smile'. However, it was in the ring that his greatest honours were hard-earned. A master ring technician, he possessed a stinging, hurtful punch in both hands all wrapped in a silken smoothness that was simply beautiful to watch.

He came quickly through a successful amateur career, turning professional in 1964. In October, 1966 after polished performances, he made the world ratings for the first time.

On February 27, 1968, Rose was given the chance to meet World Bantamweight Champion, Masahito 'Fighting' Harada, in his native Tokyo when another challenger withdrew. Using all of his natural skill and ringcraft, Rose outboxed and clearly outpointed Harada to capture the title in a unanimous decision.

Australia's Lionel Rose…the new, undisputed Bantamweight Champion of the World!

Bound for Glory

After thirty-two years, nine Grand Finals and 616 games, the black-and-white army could once again rejoice – Collingwood were again Premiers.

The Magpies and their fans had endured many years anticipating a return to the top of football’s heap and did so with a team blended of stars and hard-workers focused on bringing success back to Victoria Park.

Collingwood’s 14th Premiership team, in its fourth year under the combination of Leigh Matthews as coach and Tony Shaw as captain, was fresh off two seasons of September appearances.

Captain Shaw controlled the midfield on his way to becoming a Norm Smith Medallist, with the likes of Scott Russell, Tony Francis, Shane Kerrison, Damian Monkhorst and Darren Millane dominating in similar fashion. Meanwhile, the Magpies miserly defence restricted the Bombers to the lowest Grand Final score for 30 years.

Finally, the siren came and Collingwood had reclaimed the crown with a 48-point win. With a team drawing talent from across Australia, the country’s most iconic sporting club had finally put itself back on top.

Peter Daicos Lithograph
Category: Collingwood

Price includes GST & Delivery Australia wide.

Collingwood fans have been spoilt for superstars throughout the club’s history. Few of even the greatest names in Magpie folklore though can come close to the sheer adulation fans of the black-and-white held for number 35, Peter Daicos, throughout his 15 season career at Victoria Park.

Recruited from Preston RSL, Daicos made his senior debut in Round 4 1979 in the club’s record 178 –point win over St Kilda. Playing as a centreman or half forward throughout the year, Daicos won the Reserves Best and Fairest.

A member of the 1980 Grand Final side, Daicos won the first of five club leading goalkicker titles in 1981 as the Magpies played in a third straight Grand Final. His amazing control of the ball by foot and ability to kick goals from seemingly impossible angles became a regular feature any time football highlights were shown.

Throughout the 80s, Daicos wowed Collingwood fans and football followers alike with his skills and seemingly magnetic relationship with the ball. He was a regular Victorian representative and took on leadership roles, first as Deputy Vice-Captain in his second Copeland Trophy year of 1988.

Elevated to Vice-Captain for 1990, Daicos was a giant piece of Collingwood’s 14th Premiership. He kicked a career-high 97 goals for the season, including a miraculous boundary line dribble in the Qualifying Final draw against the West Coast Eagles and two pieces of brilliance in the Grand Final win over Essendon.

This sensational commemorative Lithograph is signed by Peter himself and is your way of celebrating one of the greats of the game.

Sachin Tendulkar "SRT 35" Signed World Test Centuries Commemorative Bat
Category: Full Size Bats

During the 1st Test, Pakistan v India at Karachi in November 1989, a quiet 16 year-old named Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar made his Test debut for his beloved India.

Then, during the 2nd Test, England v India at Manchester in 1990, Sachin showed the cricket world what he was capable of, scoring his first ever Test century, he finished 119 not out after facing 189 balls.

On December 10th 2005, during the 2nd Test, India v Sri Lanka at Delhi, Sachin Tendulkar scored an amazing 109. This Test century, being the 35th of his career, saw Sachin surpass the World Test Record of 34, previously held by Indian great Sunil Gavaskar since his retirement in 1987. Facing 196 balls, Sachin displayed his true brilliance at the crease, hitting 14 fours and 1 six, until being trapped LBW by a spectacular delivery from Muralitharan.

This outstanding achievement is destined to stand for many years to come.

As a tribute to this outstanding feat, we are proud to release a limited edition of 1000 of this special piece, titled "Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar 35". This "SRT 35" cricket bat has been elegantly framed in a quality timber box frame and Perspex glazed alongside four photos of Sachin taken during his World Record innings. This quality collectable also contains the details of all of Sachin's 35 Test Centuries printed onto the mat board in gold text.

This strictly limited piece of Test Cricket history has been personally signed by Sachin and will be the only signed bat released World wide to officially commemorate his World Test Record.

This product is supported by A-Tag Authentication Technology and includes an official a-Tag Certificate of Authenticity.

“While every Cricketer dreams of being the best in his time, this boy dreamt a little more - of being the best there ever was. Even as a little boy playing in the park, he was introspective, quiet, critical of every century he scored, every shot he played. At 16, he debuted for India, and is today the only batsman ever to have been compared with Sir Donald Bradman universally, including by Bradman himself.”

Beside the magnificent performance record, his magnetic personality and unfailing sense of kindness and thoughtfulness to everybody with whom he comes in contact have endeared him to millions throughout the world and led to the informal formation of the largest non-uniformed "military" organization in existence - Arnie's Army. Seven of his victories came in what the golfing world considers the four major professional championships. He won the Masters Tournament four times, in 1958, 1960, 1962 and 1964; the U.S. Open in spectacular fashion in 1960 at Cherry Hills Country Club in Denver and the British Open in 1961 and 1962. He came from seven strokes off the pace in the final round in that U.S. Open win and has finished second in four other Opens since then. Among the majors, only the PGA Championship has eluded him. He has finished second in the PGA three times.

To celebrate Arnold Palmer's 50 years playing professional golf and the Centenary of the Australian Open, this magnificent lithograph encapsulates Palmer's successful Golfing career and is strictly limited to 200 only. Palmer has been the recipient of countless honours, symbolic plaques, trophies and accolades that epitomise his innumerable talents. Palmer won the US Masters four times, the 1960 US Open in spectacular fashion and the British Open twice. Beautifully framed, this piece depicts his career spanning 5 decades from his secondment to the US Coast Guard in 1940's to the classic farewell from the British Open on the Swilken Bridge, St. Andrews, Scotland in 1995.

Personally signed by Arnold Palmer, the lithograph comes with a certificate of authenticity and protected by the A-tag authentication chip.

Blood Brothers
Category: Hawthorn
This great twin photographic piece commemorates one of the most memorable games played in the history of our great game, Hawthorn Vs Geelong in the 1989 VFL Grand Final. This game had everything a football fan could want to see in a single match, hard play, more than 40 goals scored during the game and a display of human spirit and strength that will never be forgotten by any fan who witnessed this match. This great piece consists of a personally signed photograph of Dermott Brereton which was taken only moments after he was crushed by Mark Yeates during the opening bounce of the game and a personally signed photograph of Robert Dipierdomenico being cleaned up by Gary Ablett. Both of the players, despite massive injuries, went on to play a major role in the Hawks win over Geelong that day. The item is finished off with a brass plaque of the match statistics. Makybe Diva - The Last Hurrah
Category: Horse Racing

From starting her career as a four year old in 2002, who would ever have believed that this outstanding mare could go from running fourth in a maiden at Benalla, to become the greatest mare Australian racing has ever seen. Winning her first race at Wangaratta over 1600 metres, she went on to win the Werribee Cup and the Queen Elizabeth Stakes. 2003 saw the emergence of her genuine brilliance, winning both the Melbourne and Sydney Cups, the only mare ever to achieve the two mile double.

As a six year old, Makybe Diva truly became the Nation’s sweetheart, winning her second Melbourne Cup carrying a record 55.5 kgs after running a close second in the Caulfield Cup. She added the Australian Cup and the 2400 metre BMW to her ever increasing list of achievements in the same season.

The 2005 spring campaign showed not only Australia, but the whole racing World what a sensation she really was. After winning the W.S. Cox Plate with ease, she set new standards in Australian racing, winning her third Melbourne Cup carrying a massive 58 kg – the only horse in racing history to ever win three Melbourne Cups. With nothing more to prove, Makybe Diva was retired, with a remarkable race record of 36 starts for 15 wins, including 7 Group Ones, and career earnings of $14,526,685.

Makybe Diva was awarded the Racehorse of The Year Award in both 2005 and 2006, with her true racing brilliance being recognised in 2006 with her induction into the Australian Racing Hall of Fame.

Each piece of this magnificent racing memorabilia has been personally signed by Tony Santic and Lee Freedman and is a limited edition of 500.

Fields Of Omagh - 2003-2006 Cox Plate Tribute
Category: Horse Racing

Price includes GST & Delivery

Fields Of Omagh created Cox Plate history when he became the oldest galloper to win Australasia's weight-for-age championship at Moonee Valley on Saturday 28/10/2006.

The nine-year-old, having his fifth consecutive starting the race, was given an emotional farewell from the track after connections announced this would be his last race.

JUST like the immortal Makybe Diva, a warrior called Fields Of Omagh saved the best until last.

This amazing thoroughbred stuck his neck out to claim an action-packed Cox Plate at Moonee Valley, in front 34,276 patrons stood to applaud a magnificent performance and pay homage to a sterling career and a true Champion of the Australian Turf.

Trainer David Hayes could not hid his delight after the warhorse's stirring victory, saying: "Just fantastic, just fantastic.''

Williams said he felt "fortunate and honoured'' to have had the winning ride.
"I was always confident, I didn't pull the whip until late,'' he said.
It was Fields Of Omagh's second amazing win in the Cox Plate after his success in 2003.
He was fifth at his first attempt in 2002, second in 2004 and third in 2005.

Considering the punishment required to compete in such a heavyweight bout, Fields Of Omagh is indeed the rarest of thoroughbreds.

Miss Finland - 2006 Crown Oaks Winner
Category: Horse Racing

Price includes GST & Delivery Australia Wide.

David Hayes put the disappointment of Tawqeet's run in the Melbourne Cup behind him when superstar filly Miss Finland took out the Group One Crown Oaks at Flemington.

"A hamburger with the lot". That's how trainer David Hayes described Miss Finland after the filly confirmed her reputation as one of Australia's all-time great fillies with an emphatic victory in the $755,000 Group 1 Crown Oaks (2500m).

"She's a 1000-metre winner at Ballarat and now she's winning Group Ones at every distance, she's just a pleasure to have.

Remarkaby, Miss Finland's win was the first Crown Oaks success for Hayes's mighty Lindsay Park training establishment. Both Hayes's father Colin and brother Peter have trained second placegetters in the Oaks but were unable to win the event.

`It's great to win one', Hayes said of the maiden Oaks win. `We've run very close a few ties but to win is a huge thrill.'

Craig Williams says: "I knew [Tuesday Joy would] always be behind me but I was only conscious of my filly and she just raced super.

"I was in second gear and then I pressed the button on the Ferrari and she just went."

"She did no work during the race and she just saved her energy for me."

Ridden by Craig Newitt, Pompeii Ruler was well-placed for the majority of the 2,000-metre race and was simply too strong for the star-studded field as he stretched his career earnings past the million-dollar mark.

Mick Price was overcome with emotion after the race and said it was an immensely satisfying win.

It's a time-honoured Group One and these are the sort of races you've got to win, he said.

He's been with me as a yearling, the horse, and I've stuck up for Newitt when he was just coming back. It's my best win ever.

The win gave jockey Craig Newitt two of the three Group One races on the program as he celebrated his 22nd birthday.

Miss Finland - 2007 Cadbury Guineas
Category: Horse Racing

Price includes GST & Delivery Australia Wide.

2007 Cadbury Guineas

Miss Finland added another feather to her cap at Caulfield on Saturday 10th March 2007, becoming just the second filly to win the Group 1 Cadbury Guineas (1600m).

Triscay in 1991 was the only filly to have achieved the feat. The boys had their chance to put pay to MIss Finland but couldn't beat the champion filly.

After settling midfield for champion jockey Craig Williams, Miss Finland covered ground around the turn while Kiwi Jokers Wild sprinted for home.

Coming hard down the outside Miss Finland loomed up to rein in the leader and held off the last lunge finish of Casino Prince, who saved ground around the turn and sprinted quickly on the inside.

She did a great job and it was a fantastic ride from Craig, trainer David Hayes said. He produced her at the right time. She's probably looking for further and had to sprint with good horses today but was able to beat them.

She loved having the bunny in front of her - every time I asked she found a bit more and was always going to get there. She's something special.

The filly, who has re-written the record books by winning the Golden Slipper, Thousand Guineas and Crown Oaks in the one year, also became just the second horse with Flying Spur, also owned by Arrowfield Stud, to win the Golden Slipper/Guineas double.

Desert War

2007 Ranvet Stakes - Group 1 - 2000m

DESERT War stamped himself as the leading weight-for-age performer in the country with his brilliant all-the-way win in the Ranvet Stakes which made is Group 1 win number 5 for the champion at Rosehill on Saturday 13th March 2007.

It was the second Group One win for the six-year-old over 2000 metres after his victory in the Mackinnon Stakes last spring in which he punished his rivals in both events.

Sent out an odds-on favourite, Desert War, with Hugh Bowman on board, scored by a length-and-a-half over Confectioner with Railings, running on nicely for third, a length away.

Waterhouse said she was a little concerned with Desert War when Confectioner got within a half length near the 150 metre mark.

He had me a little worried when he was only a length in front, Waterhouse said. He's usually five or six lengths in front of the opposition.

He's very similar to Grand Armee, Waterhouse said. Physically he's almost the same. He's got a massive wither, a huge shoulder, an enormous girth and apparatus to put all his heart and lungs. He's just a remarkably physical horse.

Waterhouse has not ruled out heading overseas with Desert War but said there were more Group 1 races at home to be picked-up before we head off overseas.

Bowman said he allowed Desert War to have a breather in the middle stages of the race before again stoking him over the last 800 metres and described the gelding as a warhorse.

After going quickly into the first turn I was able to give him a good break down the back, so once I got to the half mile I set sail, Bowman said. He's not a sit and sprint horse, but when Confectioner came he still had a plenty left and now the rest his history!

Miss Andretti - Stride by Stride
Category: Horse Racing

Price includes GST & Delivery Australia Wide.

2007 Newmarket Handicap

What a race of sprinting champions, what a clash, what excitment, WHAT a finsih!

Stride by Stride is the name of this great piece simply because of that is exactly what the race was about from the home turn with the two champions MIss Andretti and Gold Edition going Stride for Stride with the gutsy and class mare Miss Andretti putting the bob in right on the line to claim victory over Gold Edition and Undue! Six great action shot photos taken from the 200m to the winning post showing all three placegetters going Stride for Stride .

Trainer Lee Freedman labeled Miss Andretti the sprinting version of Makybe Diva after her victory in the Group 1 Seppelt Wines Newmarket Handicap, 1200 metres, at Caulfield on Saturday.

In terms of her reliability and her overall record, she's up there with Makybe Diva, Freedman said. Makybe Diva broke all the weight carrying records and this mare's doing the same.

Miss Andretti carved out the 1200 metres in a sizzling 1.07.74, taking 0.36 seconds off the previous record held by Hurricane Sky and You Remember.

The time surprised me, Freedman said. Coming to the corner, with the weight, she was under a bit of pressure to make up ground on the leaders.

But she's got an amazing will to win this mare and to carry that record weight and to get past a three-year-old as good as that and run that time is outstanding.

Freedman said Miss Andretti probably deserved the rating of the best sprinter he has trained.

She's got to be rated right there with them. Schillaci won a Galaxy with 57kg as a three-year-old, but this mare has done everything ever asked of her, he said.

The best we ever had was probably Schillaci and Bint Marscay and this mare is right up there with them.

She's just a freak, Newitt said. She's like driving a Ferrari. You just have to point her in the right direction and she just does it.

Newitt said Miss Andretti's win on Saturday was the best of her Group 1's.

She was dead on her feet in the last 50 metres but I'm sure if they came at her she would have responded,

Waugh Stories 3 'Adelaide All-Rounder'
Category: Lithographic Prints

Price includes GST & Delivery Australia wide.

Far more than just a player and far more than just a captain, Steve Waugh was the definitive leader. In a legacy forged on ovals worldwide, spanning three decades, he earned the respect of millions with his dedication and courage. Regarded internationally as one of the greatest players to ever represent their country, Steve Waugh is truly the foremost captain of Australia – both on and off the field.
In January 1994, at the picturesque Adelaide Oval, battle resumed against an enemy from days past. South Africa’s re-emergence from ‘the apartheid years’ added extra spice to an already enthralling contest. Much hot-air had been blown east across the Indian Ocean during those years of enforced isolation... many points now needed to be proven; reputations now at stake.

In Australia’s first innings, using his trusty blade of finest willow, Steve put the South African bowling attack to the sword. After smiting an imperious 164, he then chose a different weapon with which to skittle his foes; his bowling figures an impressive 4 for 26 off 18 overs.

Combining the written essence of Steve’s favourite memories with striking visual imagery, Legends brings to life once more one of the greatest moments in sporting history for the pleasure of a lucky few.

Never before has Legends released a series on just one athlete... until now!

In a ‘first’ for collectors, Steve has personally selected what he believes to be the finest performances of his international representative career – recalled by him for their special significance. There will be six chapters in the Waugh Stories collection – six lithographs limited to just 350 of each.

The Adelaide All-Rounder is:

- Personally signed by Steve Waugh
- Officially Licensed by Cricket Australia

Waugh Stories 5 'One Day at Headingley'
Category: Lithographic Prints

Price includes GST & Delivery Australia wide.

If there was a single innings that showcased the extent of Steve Waugh’s character, determination and talent, his knock against South Africa in the Super Six stage of the 1999 Cricket World Cup is a certain contender. Requiring a win to advance to the semi-finals of the prestigious tournament, Australia were in deep in trouble. Set a hefty total of 272 for victory by the Proteas, the Aussies had lost Adam Gilchrist, Mark Waugh and Damien Martyn cheaply, slumping to 3/48 before their captain strode out in the 12th over to join Ricky Ponting in the middle.

Of course this innings is also famous for Steve Waugh’s battle with South Africa’s Herschelle Gibbs. Bizarrely, Gibbs’ habit of celebration before he had complete control over the ball had been discussed at a team meeting. Now into folklore entered Steve’s utterance that reaffirmed his tenacity, gamesmanship and absolute desire to score these runs…. ‘What does it feel like to drop the World Cup?”

Released to coincide with the highly anticipated World Cup in the West Indies, ‘One Day At Headingley’ follows the hugely popular opening chapters of ‘Waugh Stories’ – ‘The Kingston Innings’, ‘Twin Tons at Old Trafford’, ‘The Adelaide All-Rounder’ and ‘Hometown Hero’.

- Strictly limited to only 350 editions
- Personally signed by Steve Waugh

Category: Memorabilia Online

Bharat Times Readers Special

Caught Marsh Bowled Lillee
Category: Photos

Price includes GST & Delivery Australia wide.

As uniquely Australian as 'Burke & Wills', as successful a team as 'Rosewall & Hoad'… During the years 1971 to 1984, one famous phrase was entered into scorebooks around the world a record 95 times…
From 'victim number 1', John Hampshire in 1971, to 'number 95', Abdul Qadir in 1984, almost all of the world's premier batsmen had their innings ended the same way,… by the same two players…

Great batsmen such as Viv Richards, David Gower and Sunil Gavaskar, and notorious 'bunnies' like Bob Willis, and Lance Gibbs alike - all succumbed to the most formidable combination of it's kind in the history of Test cricket…

Now, comes a new landmark memorabilia issue, the 'Caught Marsh, Bowled Lillee' Commemorative Release.

Brilliant Colour Photography

One of the most stunning features is the breathtaking colour photography. Colour sports photography from this period, 1972 - 1977, is exceptionally rare; but the quality and dramatic impact of these selected colour plates by acclaimed cricket photographer, Patrick Eagar, mean that they leap from the surface as though they were taken only yesterday.

They have captured Rodney Marsh and Dennis Lillee in the prime of their careers, and how many cricket lovers around the world would remember them. Lillee, the flamboyant fast bowler, bristling with youthful aggression and Rod Marsh the gritty, ever-reliable keeper hurling himself through the air to take yet another impossible catch.

The photographic centrepiece is very special. Taken during the celebrated Centenary Test between Australia and England at the M.C.G., the match was highlighted by what many consider to be their finest combined performance… Lillee with 11 English wickets and Marsh with an inspirational century and 5 dismissals. It shows the dismissal of Derek Randall - 'c. Marsh b. Lillee' - on the morning of Sunday, March 13, 1977. Dennis Lillee leaps skyward with his appeal, both index fingers raised in characteristic style as Rodney Marsh hurls the ball triumphantly skyward. Derek Randall looks forlornly at the umpire who seconds later raised the dreaded finger to the sky, sending him back to the pavilion with the English innings in tatters.

The two larger photographs on either side of the centrepiece, reveal the unique character of both cricketers. On the left Rodney Marsh smashes the ball through the covers during his tide-turning innings in the Centenary Test. He provided the backbone of the Australian fightback during the 2nd innings with a swashbuckling 110 runs, not out. At right, Dennis Lillee is captured in full flight during his delivery stride. It reveals the classical fast bowlers action that claimed a world record number of Test dismissals.

Personal signatures

Beneath the main photograph lie the special signature seals where Dennis Lillee and Rod Marsh have emblazoned their original hand-signatures in striking gold metallic ink.

Richly framed

CAUGHT MARSH, BOWLED LILLEE comes to you framed and ready to hang on your wall. The frame selected is truly magnificent. In keeping with Legends tradition of offering only the very finest quality, the rich, mahogany-finished timber frame is substantial in size and depth, measuring almost 1 metre wide, and over half a metre deep.

Adding to the meticulously detailed finish, each frame has been 'double-matted' to add a sense of depth. With an outer matboard of traditional green, and an inner matboard of antique gold, the colours and layers combine to create a stunning effect.

Purchase with confidence

Each original signature, along with the limited issue nature of the release, has been authenticated by the major independent accounting firm of PricewaterhouseCoopers who attended the signing session. A handsome, numbered 'PricewaterhouseCoopers Certificate of Authenticity & Limitation' is issued to you with each edition.

Very limited release

The images and records from this golden era of Australian cricket will undoubtedly last a very long time, but this Restricted Issue commemorative masterpiece will not. Just 1000 will ever be made available. After the issue is fully subscribed, no more can be produced.

Richard Hadlee 'The Great All-Rounders'
Category: Photos

Price includes GST & Delivery Australia wide.

'Of this quartet, (Botham, Imran, Kapil and Hadlee), who between them scored 17,379 runs and took 1,610 wickets in Test cricket, Hadlee is the all-rounder I most
admire.' Sir Garfield Sobers

'The master of swing and rhythm.'

Far and away the most outstanding all-round cricketer New Zealand has produced, Richard Hadlee was the linchpin and catalyst of the resurgence of his country's victorious sides during the 1980's.

His dedication, perseverance and commitment to training and constant improvement are renowned, resulting in the uncanny ability to put ball after ball on a spot six inches outside off-stump and just short of a length, never giving a batsman any inkling as to which way the ball would move.

Known primarily for his bowling skills, his batting average of 27.16 qualifies him for true all-rounder status, not to mention feats such as smashing 103 runs off 92 balls against the West Indian pace barrage of Roberts, Holding, Garner and Croft - one of two Test centuries.

On the 12th of November, 1988 in Bangalore, India, he broke Ian Botham's world record of 373 Test wickets. He then took the game into another dimension in 1990 by becoming the first bowler ever to take 400 Test wickets. During his final tour to England in 1990 he was knighted for his services to cricket. Sir Richard Hadlee still holds the records for the most 'five wickets in an innings' results (36 times), and for the most 'ten wickets or more in a match' results, (9 times).

He retired in 1990 after taking a wicket with his final delivery in Test cricket.

Hand-signed by Richard Hadlee

The central, signature photograph reveals the classical side-on action of the bowler described by Sir Donald Bradman as 'the master of swing and rhythm'. This is the photograph that has been hand-signed by Sir Richard Hadlee.

The photo to the left shows him In action against England at Trent Bridge, 4th Test, 1983.

Photo on the right - Newly Knighted for services to cricket, Sir Richard Hadlee plays a forcing shot off the back foot during his final tour, Lords, 2nd Test match, 1990.

Imran Khan 'The Great All-Rounders'
Category: Photos

Price includes GST & Delivery Australia wide.

'A champion with an indomitable spirit, a winner of lost causes…'
Imran Khan was at times considered almost a God in one nation, and a sinner in others.

To his Muslim countrymen he was a leader of commanding presence. To some outside of Pakistan, he was an indulgent 'playboy'.

But always, in the East, and in the West, his outstanding all-round cricket skills were unanimously agreed upon. 'The Lion Of Lahore' has few equals on the cricket field. His bouncer wars with the West Indies during their prime are the stuff of legend. His starring role as the glamour 'pin-up' of Packer's World Series Cricket, saw tens of thousands of women 'defecting' to support his side. He is one of only four cricketers to achieve over 300 wickets and 3000 runs in Test cricket, (the others being Ian Botham, Kapil Dev and Richard Hadlee).

No-one loved a challenge more than Imran Khan. When the going was toughest he was in his element; and the greater the responsibility, the greater he performed. This is evidenced in his record as Captain… In 48 Tests as his team's leader, he averaged 52.34 runs with the bat, and took 187 wickets at just 20.36 runs per wicket. However, in 40 Tests as a player only, he averaged 25.44 when batting, and took 175 wickets at 25.53.

His 'lost cause' World Cup victory in Australia in 1992 ended his career at a spectacular highpoint. Since then, Imran Khan's attentions have been dedicated to the construction of a cancer hospital for the poor in Pakistan, which was recently opened. He personally raised millions of dollars, and contributed half a million dollars of his own money to build the 'Shakut Khanum Memorial Hospital', which relies solely on public donations to operate.

The central, Signature photograph features Imran Khan sending one down against England at Headingley, Leeds, during the 3rd Test, 1987. He captained Pakistan to a 1-nil victory in the 5-Test series, their first series win in England, with a match-winning performance in this Test, taking 10/77. During the series he took 21 wickets @ 21.67, and averaged 47.75 with the bat. This is the photo which has been hand-signed by Imran Khan.

The photo to the left was captured during his inspired performance in the final of the 1992 World Cup at the M.C.G., before 87,000 spectators. Captaining his side, he top-scored with 72 runs out of a total of 249, beating England by 22 runs.

Kapil Dev 'The Great All-Rounders'
Category: Photos

Price includes GST & Delivery Australia wide.

A completely natural player, unfettered by the chains of technique. His joyous approach to the game remains unaffected either by the state of play or the mood of his colleagues. Sir Colin Cowdrey

His crowning glory – a world record 434 Test wickets…'

The Indian people have become accustomed to their cricketing heroes being small in height, but in the figure of six-foot Kapil Dev, they finally had someone they could look up to.

A natural talent who played the game with the same joyful enthusiasm as his approach to life, Kapil Dev was one of the most popular players with cricket fans and other cricketers alike in the international Test arena during a phenomenal career spanning the 70's, 80's and 90's.

During this time he was largely responsible for the resurgence of Indian cricket. India had always been blessed with great batsmen, but at last in Kapil Dev, they finally had a genuinely fast bowler with the ability to intimidate opposing batsmen with pace and late swing.

His ability didn't stop there… he was also an attacking lower middle-order batsman. One of his greatest feats was on a wet pitch at Tunbridge Wells during the World Cup in England in 1983. With his team's total tottering on 5/17, he smashed an unbeaten 175 runs. Inspired by this feat and by Kapil's captaincy, India won the match and went on to win the final of the World Cup against a powerful West Indies side.

He was the youngest player to achieve the Test double of 1000 runs and 100 wickets, a landmark he passed in fine style with figures of 11/146 against Pakistan at Madras.

Undoubtedly his crowning achievement is his world record number of Test dismissals, an amazing 434. With 8 Test centuries, and a batting average of 31.05, these statistics rank Kapil Dev Nikhanj as one of the greatest all-rounders in cricket history.

Hand-signed by Kapil Dev

The central, Signature photograph shows the young Kapil Dev in delivery stride at The Oval during the 4th Test, 1979. This lithe, distinctive action would eventually claim a world record number of Test wickets, where it stands today at an incredible 434 dismissals. This is the photo that has been signed by Kapil Dev.

The photo to the left shows him hitting out during the home series against England in 1981/'82. Here, he hooks his great all-rounder rival, Ian Botham, for four runs.

Their complementary styles guaranteed exciting cricket'

Mark Taylor and Michael Slater have opened the batting for Australia more times than any other combination. In 78 Test innings, they puton over 50 runs on average, without loss.

They were the perfect foil for each other& Michael Slater, the young dashing strokemaker, and Taylor, the dependable left handed anchor. The burgeoning success of the Australian cricket team of the 1990's was due to a number of factors. Not least among them was the solidity at the top of the order created by Taylor and Slater.

Firm friends away from the middle, they were also the opening pair for their state, NSW, when not on Test duties. Their complementary styles guaranteed exciting, entertaining cricket, and even in the most dire circumstances. With very large totals to overhaul, the sight of them striding towards the wicket square was always a reassuring one.

As 'guests' in your home, they'll do you proud

Given the unique place cricket holds in the national psyche, The Openers will be a continuing source of immense pleasure and pride to you and your family. While the names of these redoubtable batsmen are enshrined in the annals of Australia's sporting history, this depiction ensures that their faces and achievements will live on, long after they are gone, a tangible symbol of your love of the game and it's traditions.

Matthew Hayden 'Gladiator'
Category: Photos

Price includes GST & Delivery Australia wide.

Matthew Hayden's sporting life has become one of the all-time great revivals in cricket history.

From dominant first class player and occasional international, he has re-written his Test match and one day international history and carved out a record that is one of the most imposing in world cricket. He has taken the power-game to another level with demoralizing battering-ram assaults on opposing attacks in stadiums around the world.

The commanding way in which he has done that has fired the imaginations of sports lovers everywhere… stadiums become arenas with echoes of the Colliseum as he wields the bat like an axe hewing wood … or a sword - smiting great blows against his bowling foes. Punching drives, wrenching pulls and lacerating cuts and the body armour of a tight defence have become the weaponry of Australia's own cricketing gladiator, Matt Hayden.

Gladiator celebrates Matthew Hayden's remarkable batting performances. Officially endorsed by the ACB and the ACA, each edition of Gladiator is individually hand-signed by Matt Hayden.

Spectacular innings, spectacular photographs

The photographic content epitomizes the gladiatorial spirit of Matt Hayden at the crease for Australia.

The photographs are from his major dominant innings of the 2002/03 season. The feature image shows him blazing his way towards 197 against England at the 'Gabba.

The smaller Test match image pictures him after completing another century in the 2nd innings of the match. The images from the VB series show two punishing Innings - 62 runs from 68 balls against Sri Lanka at left, and 98 from 92 against England.
Along with the photographs, a written tribute describes his achievements.

Exacting quality, unquestionable authenticity

Each lithograph is reproduced using light-fast inks on heavy archival paper to ensure maximum longevity. Highlighting it are double matboards within a substantial timber frame, and enclosed in glass. Each is crafted in Legends Genuine Memorabilia's own studios under rigorous standards of quality control. Every piece is independently authenticated and is accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity and Limitation issued by PricewaterhouseCoopers.

Neil Harvey 'At The Crease'

Australia's Premier Test Batsmen

1948 - 1998
The Brilliance And Daring Of Youth...

Neil Harvey continued on where Don Bradman left off... The sheer volume of runs was not as high, but Neil Harvey ably continued the Don's role of batting mainstay of the Australian team.

From his emergence on the famous 1948 tour as the 'baby' of the team regarded by many as the greatest side ever to be assembled - The Invincibles - through season after season, match after match until his retirement from test cricket at the end of the 1962/'63 season, he was the centrepoint on which the Australian innings was often built. At the start of the 1948 tour, Bradman said he showed 'the brilliance and daring of youth, and the likelihood of rapid improvement.' And improve he did...

A dashing left hand batsman, he possessed an authoritative drive, a powerful hook shot, and was particularly good on difficult pitches. He was also a hawk-like presence in the covers, often being estimated to save Australia 20 to 30 runs per opposition innings over and above what any 'normal' fieldsman in the same position would save.

Notable series included South Africa in 1952/'53 (4 centuries, avge. 92.66) and the West Indies in 1954/'55 (3 centuries, avge. 108.33). He captained Australia to victory once at Lords in 1961. 21 of his 67 centuries came in Tests with a highest score of 205 against South Africa at Melbourne in 1952/'53.

After completing 79 Test matches, Neil Harvey had achieved a very fine average of 48.42, with a test aggregate second only to his 'predecessor' Don Bradman.

Hand-signed by Neil Harvey

The central, signature photo shows Neil Harvey playing a full-blooded off- Drive during his resilient innings of 92 not out at the S.C.G in the 2nd Ashes Test match, December 21, 1954. This is the photograph that has been personally signed by Neil Harvey.

The photo to the left - during the same defiant innings, he swings Frank 'Typhoon' Tyson away on the leg side on the last day.

'Of Goosesteps & Genius' Campese PhotoClassic
Category: Rugby Union

Price includes GST & Delivery Australia wide.

A signed limited issue photographic Wallabies masterpiece featuring the genius of David Campese.
David Campese is undoubtedly the greatest Rugby Union player of his generation.

His Test career spanned almost 15 years from 1982 until 1996. He began it with a try against the All Blacks, and 101 test caps later, finished with a world record 64 international tries.

He was an integral part of the 1984 Wallaby Grand Slam-winning side, played in three Australian World Cup campaigns securing Player of the Tournament when Australia won the 1991 Rugby World Cup.

Fast and elusive with a famous mesmerizing goosestep; when he had the ball in his hands crowds in stadiums all over the world came alive hoping to witness the David Campese brand of genius.

In a striking photograph taken during a World Cup match, a brilliant example of that genius was captured as he pauses, then changes up a gear into his electrifying trademark goosestep.

This is the definitive study of this superb athlete at the peak of his powers, and it forms the centrepiece of a new PhotoClassics release, 'Campese. Of Goosesteps & Genius'.

Publishing only the most outstanding photography, PhotoClassics features some of the most breathtaking sports photographs ever taken. In a style reflective of limited edition art prints, the central focus is the photograph, with the original signatures, limited edition numbering and biographical information appearing beneath.

Campese. Of Goosesteps & Genius comes to you already framed to 'conservation' standards, ensuring that it stands the test of time. The timber frame and rich green matboard have been chosen to accentuate the colour palette of the photograph.

'The Kick That Won The Cup' Painting - Stephen Larkham
Category: Rugby Union

Price includes GST & Delivery Australia wide.

One of the most dramatic moments in World Cup history

Preserved for the ages in a marvelously realized work of art
On Saturday, October 30, the Wallabies World Cup campaign hung by a thread….

In a stomach-churning, hand-wringing, semi-final against the powerful Springbok team at Twickenham, 80 minutes of regular time had failed to separate the two teams.

In extra time, it was the South African team who appeared to have the ascendancy.

Enter, Australia's fly-half, Stephen Larkham…

With the scores welded together at 21 - 21, Steve Larkham decided to attempt his first drop-goal in International Rugby…from 45 metres out. The rest… as they say, is history.

It was the defining moment of the Wallabies 1999 World Cup campaign. In that heart-stopping semi-final, Steve Larkham broke the extra time deadlock with an amazing drop-goal, putting the team back on the road to ultimate glory one week later.

The moment of the 1999 Rugby World Cup has now been captured in a magnificent new collectable release.

Meticulously rendered

Australia's pre-eminent sports artist, Brian Clinton, has meticulously brought to life in a dramatic way this classic Rugby moment featuring one of the modern masters of the game. His celebrated 'hyper-realism' style has masterfully captured every detail of the photograph. From the finest engraving on the Webb Ellis Cup to the faintest stitching on the Wallaby jersey badges, every nuance has been brilliantly captured.

Prominent in the foreground is the drop-goal itself - Larkham drops the ball to kick as the South African defenders swarm at him … other vignettes depict his team mates rushing to congratulate him as the ball soars through the posts … and in characteristic pose - attacking the line with football in hand… and all surrounding the central scene pictured after the Final with the Webb Ellis Cup safely in Australia's keeping.

Exacting quality, unquestionable authenticity

Each fine art lithograph is reproduced on heavy archival paper stock to stand the test of time. Accentuating the framed option are two presentation matboards and gold filet within a substantial timber frame, and encased in glass. Each is crafted in Legends Genuine Memorabilia's own studios under stringent standards of quality control. Every piece is accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity and Limitation issued by the major independent accounting firm of PricewaterhouseCoopers, and in accordance with Australian auditing standards

Signed by Steve Larkham, and the artist

Each edition is individually hand-signed by Steve Larkham. At Twickenham in 1999 he kicked victory through the jaws of defeat… now he has added his personal signature to this inspirational fine art recreation of a classic Australian sports moment. The artist who captured that moment so brilliantly, Brian Clinton, has also signed each edition.

The Kick That Won The Cup is available framed and ready for you to display, or unframed so that you may cellar it or frame at your leisure to match your décor. Fully framed it measures an imposing 1.3 metres long, and 1 metre wide - a striking centrepiece for any room where you choose to display it.

Limited edition

Exclusive to Legends and with just 500 non-repeatable editions ever to be made available, we recommend you place your order as quickly as possible to become one of the few Australians to own The Kick That Won The Cup. Individually hand-signed by Stephen Larkham, independently authenticated by PricewaterhouseCoopers and officially licenced; we strongly urge you to place your order as quickly as possible. This wonderful collectable celebration of the singular history-turning moment will never be erased from the pages of the game - it will last forever… this wonderful collectable will not. To secure this new release.
Brian Clinton's body of work blurs the line where real life ends and art begins.

His celebrated 'hyper-realism' style presents his subjects in razor sharp focus, yet suffused with the inner heroism inherent in the famous individuals and scenes that he paints, making it much, much more than a brilliantly accurate artistic likeness.

After graduating from art college, Brian Clinton has always worked as an artist. Among his many honours is the Gold Medal for Illustration at the prestigious International Festival of Advertising in New York. As well as fine art, he has successfully turned his brush to canvases as varied as philatelic art, where he is one of the world's finest creators of stamp design; and original art for the posters for films such as Crocodile Dundee and The Light Horsemen, as well as a number of Hollywood movies. He has also received numerous commissions for portraits from government and from private individuals.

His artistic legacy includes 16 artworks for Australia Post celebrating the centenary of the AFL, and a number of original paintings for the Bradman Museum at Bowral. His arresting captures of real life, meticulous attention to detail and flair for scene composition make him the preeminent artist working in the field of sport, not just in Australia, but the world.

Of his work on The Kick That Won The Cup, Brian said: 'It is such an important moment for Australian sport, so it was with a real sense of responsibility that I approached the canvas on this one. The relatively recent nature of the event allowed me liberal use of brighter colours - adding to the innate sense of excitement and occasion. Again, the viewer will be the only judge, but I am thrilled with the final result.'

'Toutai's Try' Kefu PhotoClassic
Category: Rugby Union

Price includes GST & Delivery Australia wide.

Signed limited edition Australian rugby memorabilia

Australia celebrated and New Zealand mourned when Toutai crossed the tryline in one of the most dramatic fairytale endings ever.

Saturday September 1, 2001, Stadium Australia. In another classic encounter that further enhanced the arena's reputation for epic Test matches, Australia's Wallaby team defeated the All Blacks 29 - 26 to claim a second successive Tri Nations Trophy.

In a seesawing thriller, Australia dominated the first half to lead 19 - 6. In the second half the All Blacks clawed their way back into the match, and proceeded to score 17 points in eight minutes. In the final minute New Zealand led 26 - 22. It was Australia's last chance.

The ball went to midfield, where No. 8 Toutai Kefu bulldozed his way through several defenders and planted the ball over the tryline, carrying a slew of grasping All Blacks with him. The try also ensured his captain, John Eales, went off the field a winner in his last match for the Wallabies.

Kefu's superhuman effort has been preserved in a dramatic photograph taken precisely at the moment he reaches across the tryline, through a maze of All-Black arms and legs, to ground the ball and win the match. This classic photograph forms the centrepiece of a new PhotoClassics release, Toutai's Try.

Publishing only the most outstanding photography, PhotoClassics features some of the most breathtaking sports photographs every taken. In a style reflective of limited edition art prints, the central focus is the photograph, with the original signature, limited edition numbering and biographical information appearing beneath.

A Tribute to The Don
Category: Sir Donald Bradman
There has been no other sportsman that has both inspired and influenced a nation more than Sir Donald George Bradman.
As a young batsman, Don Bradman quickly established a reputation as a sportsman with unique ability and outstanding talent.
This was never more evident than early in the Third Test against England in 1930 at Leeds.
The twenty-one year old Bradman had taken the crease after only five balls. With grim determination and masterful stroke play, the young Bradman set out to play the innings of his life.
In 99 minutes before lunch, he had made 100 runs, by tea a massive 220. He ended the day with a crashing off drive for four to bring up a staggering 309 runs - the most runs ever made in a single day of a Test ever, anywhere.
This brought his seasons tally to 2000 runs, making him the youngest cricketer to reach that milestone in an English cricket season. Next day, Bradman took his score to 334 - a Test record at the time.
'The Don's' reign, as cricketing legend and national hero, had begun.

Don Bradman's name and reputation as the greatest batsman of all time will live on forever no more so than in celebrated artist Brian Clinton's painting 'A Tribute to the Don', which portrays Bradman in his prime, playing his classic cover drive on the way to his record breaking innings at Leeds.
This was Bradman at the height of his powers and Brian's masterpiece evocatively captures not only the awesome power and determination of 'The Don' but also the spirit and moment of that special Test in 1930.
Only 99 numbered, highest quality Giclee Prints will be remastered from the original painting and offered to Collectors and Corporations worldwide.
Each lightfast fine art print is on 100% archival watercolour paper and beautifully hand mounted and framed in archival quality materials.
Each artwork bears the personal signature, with an archival silver pen, of Sir Donald Bradman.
A Certificate of Authenticity and framed photo of Sir Donald with the original painting, signed by the artist, accompanies each artwork.
'A Tribute to The Don' is an exclusive and rare opportunity to purchase one of the finest memorial tributes to this most deeply admired and loved Australian. It is an opportunity not to be missed.

Category: Collingwood
Every Collingwood supporter is aware of the heartache following the 1958 premiership. Collingwood played in nine grand finals to the start of the 1990 season without tasting the ultimate success. This great piece of Pies memorabilia celebrates their 1990 success, consisting of a junior sized Collingwood Jumper signed by Tony Shaw, a photo of Tony with the Premiership Cup above his head and is topped off with a plaque containing the match details. 1989 Hawthorn Premiership Cards & Photo
Category: Hawthorn
This great piece of Australian Football memorabilia commemorates the 1989 VFL Grand Final victory of the Hawthorn Football Club, a game that will go down in history as one of the greatest. The piece consists of a full set of WEG player cards from the Hawks winning side, a plaque of the match statistics and has been framed alongside a signed black and white photograph of Dermott Brereton taken moments after he was hit with a huge shirtfront by Geelong's Mark Yeates.
'The Kid' limped towards the forward pocket holding his ribs and vomiting, he was in obvious distress. However when a still frail-looking Brereton marked courageously in a pack and goaled, the Hawks were inspired, and began to attack the ball with the intensity of a truly great side.
The last quarter however, was premiership football at it's very best. The physical treatment that the Hawthorn players had been dealt began to take its toll, the Hawthorn juggernaut began to slow dramatically.
The Cats pounced on their opportunity, and with the mercurial Gary Ablett leading the way with a record nine goals for the game they reduced the deficit, and looked set to overtake the Hawks. In the final moments the game was well and truly up for grabs. As hard as Geelong tried to wrench the lead from Hawthorn's vice like grip, in a true staying contest, the Hawks held firm despite pain and exhaustion to score a memorable six-point win.
It was a victory earned with blood and pain, and although the victorious Hawthorn unit looked like the walking wounded after the match, this was one of the great team performances of all time.

Dermott Brereton Inspirational 1989 Grand Final Photo
Category: Hawthorn
On a beautiful spring day Geelong and Hawthorn turned on a goal kicking spectacular which was littered with highlights and controversy. From the opening bounce this game was buzzing. Hawthorn's centre half forward Dermott Brereton was crushed by Geelong's Mark Yeates and was left holding his ribs and in obvious distress. Brereton was recovering in a forward pocket, marked in a pack and goaled, The Hawks began to lift. "Inspirational" was the simple message Allan Jeans sent to Brereton via the runner and by the end of the first term the Hawks led by over six goals. Geelong settled down and while there were spot fires all over the ground, that margin held until the final change. That's when the majesty of this contest reached its peak. Geelong kept coming with Gary Ablett rewriting the record book at full forward, while Hawthorn kept counter punching. But the physical examination Geelong had put Hawthorn through began to take its toll and the reigning Premiers began to stall. The Cats were charging. In the final few minutes this game was up for grabs, and it was then that we saw the true strength of this magnificent Hawks outfit. It held firm despite injury and fatigue to win a contest played at breakneck speed all day.
This memorabilia piece depicts Dermott Brereton going through severe pain in the trainer's arms during the first quarter of playing. The photo has been framed with a plaque of the match description and statistics. This is one for all footy fans.

Northerly The Double
Category: Horse Racing

Price includes GST & delivery Aust. wide.

Superhorse Northerly became the new King of Australian racing and joined the greats of years past in the space of one week at the 2002 Caulfield Cup and Cox Plate. In doing so, he became only the 4 th horse ever to win the Caulfield Cup - Cox Plate 'double' in the same year, and the 9 th ever to win back-to-back Cox Plates.  The gallant gelding was retired in October 2004 after a brief comeback from a tendon injury.

On October 19 2002, the champion from Western Australia, Northerly, triumphed in Australia's most difficult 2400m handicap, the Caulfield Cup. Guided by Greg Childs and prepared magnificently by Fred Kersley, the horse they call "Freak" carried the highest weight of any winner for 22 years. Untroubled by this burden he went on to record a memorable victory.but this was to be just the first chapter in a remarkable Spring Carnival story.

Just one week later on October 26, the 2002 Cox Plate was run at Moonee Valley. This race was acknowledged by many as boasting the strongest field of thoroughbreds the race had ever seen. The sheer authority of Northerly's victory left many convinced that, in the same race that marked the end for the "Queen" of racing, Sunline; a new "King" had been crowned. With Patrick Payne on board, Northerly stalked the champion mare before winning easily by a length. Trainer Fred Kersley managed the change in distance and change of pace expertly, and in Northerly he had a horse who could handle it with the aplomb of a champion, and the authority of ... a King.

Personally signed by trainer Fred Kersley and jockeys Greg Childs and Patrick Payne; this is also the definitive limited edition collectable of these wonderful victories and of a wonderful horse. With just 500 non-repeatable editions ever to be made available; we recommend you place your order as quickly as possible. 'Northerly - The Double' was created with the support and endorsement of the Melbourne Racing Club and the Moonee Valley Racing Club, and bears their official marks.
